ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR - Create, maintain volunteer interest form, maintain master list of information, distribute lists to pertinent committees. Recruit when necessary.
CULTURAL PLANNER – Arrange for curriculum enriching, cultural assemblies to come to the school 3-5 times a year.
BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETINGS – 2ND & 4th Tuesday of each month. Go to or watch on TV meetings and report back to PTO current happenings.
PARTNERS IN EDUCATION MEETINGS – 3RD Weds. of each month at 3:30pm. Go to meeting and report back to PTO current happenings.
PTO BABYSITTING – Recruit, train and monitor 6th grade students babysitting during monthly PTO Meetings and Parent Teacher conferences in Nov.
LIBRARY – Help check in/out & re-shelve books.
6th GRADE COMMITTEE – Coordinates activities including yearbook, soda sales, cookie dough sale and year end festivities
TEACHERS SERVICES – Help copy, collate, bind, or die-cut projects for teachers or staff. Schedule extremely flexible. (1 hour/week?)
THURSDAY AM PACKETS –Help collate and staple flyers for weekly distribution to students (approx 1 hour).
HMS T-SHIRTS – Help sell HMS t-shirts/sweatshirts.
NEWSLETTER – Publish monthly, include timely PTO meeting information and activities.
REWARDS PROGRAMS – Help advertise participation in BIG Y, Shaw’s, Stop & Shop and Target education shopping rewards programs.
SCHOOL STORE – 2 Weds/mo. Cashier and help students shop during lunch. Store cannot run without help!
PTO WEBSITE DESIGN – Help create, design and update a new website communicating PTO activities.
BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION – Help promote, collect & redeem product labels for cash.
CAMPBELL’S LABELS– Help promote, collect, count, redeem product labels for school merchandise.
WELCOMING FAMILIES – Be paired with a new family to answer questions and help make their adjustment a comfortable experience.
PUBLICITY – Contact newspapers, television stations to inform public of the wonderful happenings at our school.
ONE TIME ACTIVITIES:
FALL FUNDRAISER –Sept./Oct. Help tally orders and help with product distribution.
FAMILY DAY –Sept. Help run food booth on town green representing our school.
HALLOWEEN PARTY – Help set up, take down party. Serve pizza. Take tickets. Handout treats.
BOOK FAIR – Oct.
BOOK FAIR – April/May Help set up & take down book fair. Help students select books. Ring up orders.
HOLIDAY BAZAAR –Dec. Help purchase & tag items, set-up & take down tables & products, help students select items for loved ones, ring up items.
FAMILY BINGO – January Help call numbers, check winning cards, give out prizes, clean up.
FOOD DRIVE – January Help collect student/staff donations to Enfield Food Shelf.
PARENT/ADULT DANCE –Winter Help advertise, sell tickets, decorate, set up, take down party. Assist in assembling raffle prizes
FAMILY FUN NIGHT –March Help decorate, set up, take down party. Serve refreshments. Assist families in dance, games or activity.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL – Apr/May Help sell tickets, buy supplies, serve refreshments.
FIELD DAY – June Help run games and relays, face paint, run Bingo, serve snow cones.
KINDERGARTEN/NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION – Aug. Help prepare & distribute books to kindergarteners, serve refreshments and greet new families.
WELCOME BACK PICNIC-Sept. Enlist volunteers to roast hot dogs; purchase buns, dogs, condiments; set-up food tables, greet families & faculty; clean-up.
AUTHOR VISIT – flexible - Arrange for author to come to school, sell books, coordinate the day’s events.
